What is the Novena Against Disease & Pestilence?
This novena, written by Fr. Bryan Howard during the Coronavirus Pandemic of 2020, is intended for use by individuals, communities, and Churches in times when sickness and disease are affecting large numbers of people, but it could be easily modified for use by individual who is sick. Each day, for nine days we ask for growth in a particular virtue that are necessary in times of illness or trial, and we ask for the intercession of a different saint or group of saints. Then, we conclude with the Memorare, asking our Blessed Mother for her prayers on our behalf.
To Pray the Novena:
Each day for nine days, or each week or month:
1. Pray the Novena Prayer.
2. State your prayer intentions.
3. Pray the Daily Prayer, found in the links below.
4. Finally, pray the Memorare.

Novena Prayer
Lord God Almighty, You are Creator of heaven and earth and the Eternal Father. You sent Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to be born of the Virgin Mary as man that we might receive adoption as Your sons and daughters, and, after His Ascension, You both sent the Holy Spirit as Paraclete to be a source of grace welling up within us. As this pestilence spreads through our communities and throughout the world, we beg You to look with mercy and compassion upon us, unworthy though we are, to heal the sick, to protect all from illness, especially those who care for the sick, and to put a quick end to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Daily Prayers
Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence I fly unto thee, O virgin of virgins my mother. To thee I come. Before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
